Dr. Howard Greenfield is a board-certified anesthesiologist with specialty training in cardiac anesthesia and pain management. He was one of the original founding partners of Sheridan Healthcare and spent most of his clinical career at Memorial Regional Hospital, in Hollywood, Florida. As Chief of the Anesthesia Department, he provided clinical and operational oversight to an Anesthesia care team covering 24 operating rooms. Dr. Greenfield was the original Director of Trauma Anesthesia at this Level I trauma center and helped to establish Joe DiMaggio Children’s hospital pediatric anesthesia team.
Dr. Greenfield became the first Clinical Administrator of Anesthesia Operations at Sheridan and was later promoted to Vice President of Business Development & Recruiting. He spent much of his time in that role responding to RFP’s and starting new anesthesia practices in a number of states. He is an expert in all aspects of anesthesia operations including clinical practice and practice management and has helped guide many anesthesia groups during their process to sell their practice to private equity and strategic acquirers. Dr. Greenfield is a national speaker on anesthesia practice management topics and is well-known for giving lectures to anesthesia residents on the obstacles facing residents entering private practice. He has recently authored an article on the growth of anesthesia practices into national corporate entities. Dr. Greenfield earned his medical degree from Temple University and completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Miami.
